Dr Alok Kanungo
Managing Trustee

Dr Alok Kanungo is the Managing Trustee of CDRF, and also the Chairman, Managing Director, and Chief Consultant Diabetologist of Kanungo Institute of Diabetes Specialities—a 100-bedded multi-speciality hospital located in Bhubaneswar, India. He is a noted physician with over 150,000 registered patients, and widely known for his fundamental research in the field of diabetes. Dr Kanungo did his PhD in diabetology from Karolinska Institute, Sweden, and has over 50 peer-reviewed publications in diabetes research. With a research focus on type-1 diabetes and malnutrition-related diabetes, he has been the Principal Investigator of several type 1 diabetes genetics studies in India and has been a key member of the Consultative Committee of the World Health Organisation for the Management of type-2 diabetes in India.

Saurabh Tripathi
Head - Business Strategy

At KIDS Hospital, Saurabh works on identifying practical avenues for new revenue and improving operational efficiency across the organisation. He oversees budgeting for capital expenditures, supports cost optimisation efforts, and helps plan process and infrastructure upgrades to strengthen day-to-day operations. His role also includes guiding institutional hiring and contributing to initiatives that promote employee well-being. Saurabh focuses on aligning resources, systems, and people to support the organisation’s ongoing growth and stability. He also supports CDRF -- the sister-concern trust -- with resource planning and budgeting for their ongoing grant-based programmes.

Niti Gupta
Head of Programmes

Niti manages CDRF's portfolio of new programs and initiatives, with primary oversight of the Foundation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects. In this role, she manages project design, execution, fundraising efforts, and overall program management to ensure maximum impact in diabetes care across Odisha. Niti brings extensive experience as a development economics professional, working with various national and international think-tanks, specialising in large-scale grant development, research, and rigorous impact assessment. She holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies, with a major in Economics of Development, from the International Institute of Social Sciences (ISS), Erasmus University, The Netherlands. She also holds an undergraduate honours degree in Economics from Daulat Ram College, Delhi University.
